Mental disease includes any imbalances we experience in the mind-anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, OCD, and other mental conditions diagnosed by western medicine.

In Ayurveda we focus on the gunas- Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas and how they influence the subtle doshas Prana, Tejas, Ojas.

This episode covers the way doshas manifest mental disease, and how the gunas influence the subtle doshas.

We also discuss how to evolve to a sattvic state which brings us into mental health and balance.

If you are ready to take your Ayurvedic studies to the next level, join the 28 Day Ayurveda Immersion. We will cover the doshas and how to stay balanced, sleep, yoga, meditation and creating daily habits. It's a life changing experience. Learn more at www.ayurvedalifeschool.com/ayurvedaimmersion

The three main waste products of the body- the Ahara Malas- are Feces, Urine and Sweat. In this episode I teach you what to look for in each mala to know what dosha is increased.

Knowing the signs to look for allows you to treat your own dosha imbalances and bring health to your body.

I also teach you an interesting urine analysis test you can do simply at home with just a cup and sesame oil.

Your body moves through three distinct stages of digestion, and the doshas are major forces in those stages.

Each stage has symptoms that may arise-things like bloating, acid indigestion, gas, diarrhea or heaviness. So how do we make sense of these stages and how to interpret what the symptoms mean?

In this episode I discuss Accumulation, Aggravation and Alleviation of the doshas during digestion.

We also talk about how to know which dosha is giving you digestive trouble based on timing and symptoms. Then you know specifically what to treat.

The mind is a subtle template of the brain. And the nadis are the subtle template of the nervous system.

The nadis carry pranic energy to the body and influence our energy, emotions, and feelings.

The main 3 nadis- Ida, Pingala, Shushumna govern the elements of fire, water and ether.

How you manage the flow of energy through these main Nadis influences every aspect of your being.

In this episode I discuss the connection between the mind and the nadis. How to increase the flow through the Nadi's and how to know if you are in excess in your energy flow.

Finally, I share simple tools to heal the Nadi's and get your energy to flow clean and smooth, leading to an increase in joy, clarity and bliss.

Let's go back to the basics. Nature, and each of you, are made up of the 5 elements- Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth.

But have you thought about how each of these elements shows up in your body and mind? What about the sense that connects to each element? How about the action each element creates in the body and mind?

And finally, we will discuss how the elements to create doshas, or your constitutional nature and how to achieve balance with the old principle "Like increases Like and Opposites Balance"

Get your pen and notebook ready-this episode has a lot of substance.

Enjoy.

We often are told to 'let go', to release attachments, to live in this moment. But how do we actually do this?

In this episode we discuss attachment and the doshas, object-referral vs self-referral, and how to work on our thoughts to change perception and emotions.

It is possible to release old emotions and stored energy as well as attachment to what 'should' be and instead live from peace and the present moment.

This episode ends with a release meditation exercise you can practice daily to bring greater peace and power into your life.

If you want to start implementing these principles and create routines for health, join the 28 Day Ayurveda Immersion program starting at the beginning of each month. https://www.ayurvedalifeschool.com/ayurvedaimmersion
